Association for the Defence of EVOO

ASSOCIATION FOR THE DEFENSE OF EVOO (ADAOVE)

On June 1, 2021, the Association for the Defense of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (ADAOVE) was presented in Alicante, with the commitment to value and promote the pillar of Mediterranean gastronomy and one of the most important brands of the Spain Brand: extra virgin olive oil, which until now had not managed to place itself in its rightful place in gastronomy, health or the economy of our country.

The drive and enthusiasm of businessman Joaquín Selma led him, along with his colleagues who are part of the association, to take another step forward in promoting and defending the culture of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), with the creation of the ADAOVE association, which aims to consolidate itself as the most useful instrument to promote Mediterranean gastronomy, its products and the lifestyle it represents, making EVOO a fundamental value; with the fair price to the farmer, sustainability and the Circular Economy as the basis of its production; promoting collaboration with other institutions, research centers, universities, companies, producers, and entities both nationally and internationally; promoting R+D+I in training and technology; acting jointly with other associations in its defense and the culture of the olive grove and, finally, promoting and publishing studies and reports that favor the culture of EVOO and promote its spread throughout the world.

ADAVOE has had the support of institutions such as the Alicante Chamber of Commerce, the Provincial Council of the province of Alicante and the City Council since its inception, which ensure a start with the strength that such an important project deserves, additionally, it will support the identification of Alicante with a product in which Spain is the world leader, Andalusia the first producer and Alicante, from now on, the catalyst for research and dissemination of best practices in matters of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

This project was born with the conviction that the collaboration of farmers, oil mills, cooperatives, marketers, distributors, hoteliers and researchers in our country will help place EVOO in its rightful place in gastronomy.
